Tasos Douvikas

COMO – The Tasos Douvikas Como contract extension is now official. Como 1907 have announced that the Greek forward has signed a new deal that will keep him at the club until 2031, securing the long-term future of one of the Biancoblù’s most influential players.

Since joining Como during the winter transfer window of the 2024/25 season, Douvikas has established himself as a key figure in the club’s rise. His combination of goals, consistency and work rate has made him one of the standout performers under head coach Cesc Fàbregas.

The new agreement reflects both the player’s importance on the pitch and the club’s desire to continue building around a core group capable of competing in Serie A and European football.

Tasos Douvikas Como contract: the numbers behind the renewal

The Tasos Douvikas Como contract follows an outstanding first 20 months at the club.

After arriving from Celta Vigo in February 2025, the striker scored twice in 13 Serie A appearances during his first months in Italy. It was only a preview of what was to come.

In the 2025/26 season, Douvikas enjoyed the most prolific campaign of his career, scoring 17 goals in 44 appearances across all competitions. Fourteen of those goals came in Serie A, allowing him to finish as the league’s second-highest scorer and establish himself among the division’s elite forwards.

His excellent form has continued into the current campaign. Through the opening weeks of 2026/27, Douvikas has already collected eight goals in 11 appearances, including three goals in the UEFA Champions League.

Overall, his numbers for Como now stand at:

  • 68 appearances
  • 27 goals
  • 5 assists
  • 21 Serie A goals
  • 3 Coppa Italia goals
  • 3 UEFA Champions League goals

Few forwards in Italian football have matched that level of consistency since the beginning of 2025.

How Tasos Douvikas earned his new Como contract

Born in Athens on 2 August 1999, Douvikas emerged through the youth systems of Aristeas Argous and Asteras Tripolis before making his senior breakthrough in Greece.

His performances with Volos attracted international interest and earned him a move to Dutch side FC Utrecht, where his career reached a new level. During his time in the Eredivisie, he scored 39 league goals in 72 appearances and finished as joint top scorer of the 2022/23 season, sharing the Golden Boot with Xavi Simons.

The Greek international then joined Celta Vigo in Spain before moving to Como in February 2025. What initially appeared to be an ambitious transfer has since become one of the club’s most successful signings.

Across his entire professional career, Douvikas has accumulated 105 goals in 288 appearances, surpassing the century mark before turning 28.

Why Como rewarded Douvikas with a new contract

Standing at 184 centimetres, Douvikas offers much more than goals.

The striker combines intelligent movement with strong aerial ability and is comfortable finishing with either foot. He can operate as a traditional number nine, link play outside the penalty area and act as a focal point when Como build attacks.

Those qualities have made him a natural fit for Fàbregas’ tactical philosophy. His ability to press, hold up the ball and create space for teammates has been just as valuable as his goalscoring record.

As Como continue their growth on the domestic and European stage, tying down a player of Douvikas’ calibre was a logical priority.

Champions League impact strengthens Douvikas’ importance

One of the biggest reasons behind the Tasos Douvikas Como contract extension has been his immediate impact in Europe.

The forward scored in each of Como’s first three UEFA Champions League League Phase matches, helping the club make an impressive start to its first appearance in the competition.

Those performances demonstrated that his goalscoring ability can translate beyond Serie A and reinforced his status as one of the leaders of the current squad.

Douvikas: “This group feels like a family”

Following the announcement, Douvikas expressed his happiness at extending his stay on the shores of Lake Como.

“I’m very happy to continue my journey with Como. From the first moment I arrived, I felt at home and immediately sensed the ambition of the club. I’ve grown a lot thanks to coach Fàbregas and his staff, and this group feels like a big family. I want to keep helping the team and continue giving my best.”

Fàbregas also welcomed the agreement and praised the striker’s mentality.

“From his first day in Como, Tasos has shown a fantastic mentality, and that has been reflected in his performances on the pitch. He is always positive, highly ambitious and has an excellent work ethic. We are delighted to announce his contract extension.”

For Como, the decision to extend the Tasos Douvikas Como contract until 2031 is more than a reward for past performances. It is a statement of intent from a club determined to continue its rise in Italian and European football with one of its most important players leading the attack.
